Deciding whether an aid project is worth your donation

by mqholt on June 23, 2009

Thanks to Jon Thompson of Aid Worker Daily for tweeting the link to an excellent article on Saundra Schimmelpfennig’s blog called “How to determine if an aid project is a good idea.”  It’s a good read for anyone who is considering donating to any kind of foreign relief program.

And it’s good for those in charge of non-profit web sites to read it to emphasize that they need to provide the kind of information donors need to do research into their programs on their own web sites, so that their voice is in the discussion. Responsible donors will find additional sources as well, but will often start on the non-profit’s own site.
